Established by the Environment Agency under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 , the Yorkshire Regional Flood and Coastal Committees purpose is to; ensure there are plans for managing flood risks and coastal erosion risks across shorelines and catchments, encourage investment in flood and coastal erosion risk management and to provide links between the Environment Agency, LLFAs and other relevant bodies to build an understanding of flood and coastal erosion risks.
