Considers and determines any appeal against dismissal, grading and any determination of a grievance by employees of the Council in accordance with Council policies and the Local Government and Housing Act 1989. Consider and determine student award appeals, home to school transport appeals and discretionary hardship payments appeals. Acts as and determines matters brought to the Corporate Complaints Panel, Member Notice of Possession Proceedings Panel and Disputes Panel. Membership: 5 members of the Council Quorum: 3 Meets: As and when necessary
Early Support and Lifelong Learning Overview and Scrutiny Commission - 2013-2022
To scrutinise, monitor and review services that relate to children, young people and education including: adult education, apprenticeships, child poverty, children's centres and all children's education, children’s social care and well-being, early support and intervention, children and young people’s safeguarding and youth support services.
Infrastructure and Energy Overview and Scrutiny Commission - 2013-2022
To scrutinise monitor and review services that relate to the development of renewable energy and the infrastructure within the City, including energy production, conservation and future proofing, streetscene and transport, waste management, climate change and flood risk planning and management.
Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee
The Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee (Yorkshire and the Humber) – the JHOSC – was initially established (in March 2011) to consider the Safe and Sustainable Review of Children’s Congenital Cardiac Services in England, the associated proposals and respond to the options presented for public consultation.
